First Holy Communion (2021) - Come and Eat

We congratulate our children who will receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion for the first time this year

We offer our prayers and congratulations to the children of Primary 4 of Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School and to their parents and families who made their First Holy Communion in St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday 19th June.

We thank our principal Mrs. Donnelly, class teacher Miss Treacy, classroom assistants who helped prepare the children for the sacrament and Ciara Fox for her beautiful music and singing.

We look forward to the children now having an even closer relationship with Jesus, the Bread of Life and Food for the Journey.

This is what I have received from the Lord, and in turn passed on to you: that on the same night that he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread, and thanked God for it and broke it and he said, “This is my body which is for you; do this as a memorial of me.” In the same way he took the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. When you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.
