On the evening of Friday 13^th November the parishioners of Greencastle came together at Greencastle Community Centre to bid Fr, Eugene Hasson farewell and to thank him for his 8 years of dedication to our parish. Joined by our new parish priest Fr. Edward Gallagher a night of fun and joviality was had where Fr. Hasson was presented with a surprise 21-inch engraved cross and an apple tart baked by Ita McDermott. A special personalised cake depicting Fr Hasson’s love of horses was also baked in appreciation of his time at the parish. During the second half of the event parishioner Paul Tuohey entertained the guests with a lengthy compilation video of Fr. Hasson’s achievements during his 7 years as parish priest, including a number of Mass walks that he had taken part in and his involvement in the New York marathon where he won 2 medals.
