On Friday 10th April, 2015 the memorials for the ‘Way of the Cross’ arrived at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in our parish of Greencastle. They were gifted to our parish by the Sisters of Loreto and were previously erected in the grounds of the former Loreto Retreat House overlooking Lough Swilly, at Linsfort near Buncrana in Co. Donegal.
The memorials were prepared by Adrian McGovern of Dromore and delivered to us by his brother Mark, son Pearse and Eamon McCusker. Francis Clarke (of Binnefreaghan) picked the stones used to mount them from Clarke’s quarry in Co. Fermanagh.
Despite snow showers early on the morning of Saturday 11th April a group of parishioners gathered to put the memorials in place in our cemetery. The photographs below are a record of these two days.
