Death of Auxiliary Bishop Francis Lagan
Wednesday 31st October, 1934 to Tuesday 9th June, 2020
With great sadness I share with you the news that our retired Auxiliary Bishop, Most Rev. Francis Lagan died early this morning. He was 85 years old.
Bishop Francis confirmed many of you in this parish, he ordained me to the priesthood 26 years ago this coming Friday and himself would have been 60 years ordained on Sunday 19th June, 1960. He was ordained a bishop on Sunday 20th March, 1988. He was a native of Lisnamuck in the Parish of Glen, Maghera, Co. Derry.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and classmates and the people of the Parish of Camus (Strabane) where he has lived for many years. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
Fr. Eddie Gallagher PP
