Induction of Fr. Edward Gallagher as Parish Priest of Greencastle

The Induction of Fr. Edward Gallagher as the 13th Parish Priest of Greencastle took place on Thursday 17th September before a packed congregation in St. Patrick's Church, Greencastle. The ceremony was led by the Most Reverend Dónal McKeown, Bishop of Derry and concelebrated by over a dozen priests from across the diocese.

Fr. Gallagher was joined by family members including his mother Evelina, brother and 4 sisters, nephew and other friends including parishioners from previous parishes in which he served including Holy Family and Long Tower, Derry and Limavady.

After the ceremony the congregation were invited for refreshments in Greencastle Community Centre where they were entertained by several young local traditional musicians. A sincere thank you to all who were involved on the night, a good time was had by all!
